Fitzwilliam College

GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS AND STUDENTSHIPS

The College invites applications for the following Graduate Scholarships and Studentships:

Leathersellers' Graduate Scholarship

The Scholarship is of the value of £2,000 a year, and is tenable for up to three years. It may be held in conjunction with another award, and is open to home graduates from all British Universities who wish to undertake research in Physical or Biological Sciences, in Mathematics or in Engineering. Priority will be given to the holder of the Scholarship in the allocation of a room in College or College housing.

E.D.Davies Scholarship

The Scholarship is of the value of £1,250 a year, and is tenable for up to three years. It may be held in conjunction with another award, and is open to graduates who wish to undertake research. Priority will be given to the holder of the Scholarship in the allocation of a room in College or College housing.

Shipley Studentship

The Studentship is of the value of £1,250 a year, and is tenable for one year. It may be held in conjunction with another award, and is open to graduates who wish to undertake research in the Faculty of Divinity (or, exceptionally, on a theological topic in another faculty). Priority will be given to the holder of the Scholarship in the allocation of a room in College or College housing.

J.R.W.Alexander Studentship

The Studentship is of the value of £1,000 a year, and is tenable for one year. It may be held in conjunction with another award, and is open to graduates from all British Universities who wish to read for the LL.M. Degree. Priority will be given to the holder of the Scholarship in the allocation of a room in College or College housing.

Candidates for the Scholarships and Studentships must apply to the Board of Graduate Studies, 4 Mill Lane, Cambridge, CB2 1RZ, for admission as a graduate student (using the standard C.I.G.A.S. form, available from the Board); preference will be given to those naming Fitzwilliam College as their first choice. In addition, they should write to the Tutor for Graduate Students, Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, CB3 0DG, stating the award(s) for which they are applying. They should enclose a brief curriculum vitae, state the other means of financial support that they hold or for which they are applying, and (for the Leathersellers' and E.D.Davies Scholarships and the Shipley Studentship) give details of their proposed area of research. They should also arrange for two people acquainted with their recent academic work to send confidential reports directly to the Tutor for Graduate Students before the closing date.

The closing date for all applications is 13 June 1998.
