C.T. Taylor Fund: Notice

Statutes and Ordinances, 1997, pp. 679 and 830

The Managers give notice that they intend to proceed to the election of one or more C.T. Taylor Studentships, to be tenable from 1 October 1998, by persons who are not ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom who are either registered or about to become registered as Graduate Students in the University. The awards will provide part-cost support for courses of advanced study or research in any of the Faculties of Engineering, Earth Sciences and Geography, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, or the Computer Laboratory, the Departments of Chemical Engineering, Land Economy, Genetics, Plant Sciences, Zoology, or the Institute of Biotechnology.

If two or more candidates are equally well qualified, preference will be given to candidates from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or the United States of America. Awards may be for periods of one year or more, provided that Studentships may not normally be held for more than three years in all. The Managers hope to be able to make one award of up to £5,000 p.a. to a student who is not currently in residence, as well as a number of smaller awards.

Application forms are available from the Registry, The Old Schools, Cambridge, CB2 1TN, and returned to the Registry by 31 July 1998.

All candidates applying for a Studentship should provide the referees whose names appear in their applications with copies of a prescribed reference sheet available from the Registry and ask referees to send references direct to the Registrary by the closing date.
