We are delighted to announce a new annual festival of creative writing at Madingley Hall. To mark our partnership with the BBC National Short Story Award, this festival will celebrate the short story.

Landscapes Below celebrates a period of experimental geological map-making in the 19th century, focusing on the use of colour in geological maps and on the development of a visual vocabulary for the new science.

Reality Machines brings together artists and human rights advocates from around the world who have taken a critical view at fake news and the "post-truth phenomenon".

'A Quantum Leap': Crowd sourcing assessment

Professor Simon Peyton Jones FRS and Miles Berry, principal lecturer in Computing Education at the University of Roehampton, will tell the story so far of Project Quantum – a research project designed to help computing teachers check their students’ understanding, and support their progress, by providing free access to an online assessment system of crowd-sourced assessment items.
