Dark skies stargazing/astronomy event: Switch Off Week

Mon 10 November 2014

Astronomy, Institute of

As part of Switch Off Week, join the Environment and Energy Section and the Department of Astronomy for a family friendly guided look at the stars with hot drinks to ward off the chill. Switch Off Week is a chance for us to look at our energy consumption and switch off lights, office and laboratory equipment, making the University of Cambridge greener and reducing our £16 million energy bill.

If it's clear weather: we will enjoy guided stargazing outside with a selection of telescopes, followed by a screening of 'Sky at Night' filmed in Cambridge.

If it is cloudy: we will be treated to a talk by Dr Carolin Crawford, followed by a screening of the Cambridge episode of 'Sky at Night'.

This is a ticketed event with limited availability.

Cost: Free
