Philippa Pearce Memorial Lecture

Frank Cottrell Boyce is a gifted and versatile writer, a wizard of word and image, an award-winning novelist for children and a brilliant screenplay writer. All of his many talents were on show to the world in his memorable collaboration with Danny Boyle for the Opening Ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012. He will be the speaker for the Philippa Pearce Memorial Lecture 2014 at Homerton College. The title for Frank’s talk is Rowing on the River of Time.

Philippa Pearce was the much-loved author of children's literature, including Tom's Midnight Garden and Minnow on the Say. She lived in Great Shelford, Cambridgeshire, for many years. The Philippa Pearce Memorial Lecture is an annual lecture that celebrates excellence in writing for children.
