Oliver Coates joins CUMS Symphony Orchestra for a performance of Elgar’s haunting Cello Concerto, conducted by Sian Edwards, head of conducting at the Royal Academy of Music. Coates is currently an associate artist at the Southbank Centre and was the winner of the Royal Philharmonic Society Young Artist Award in 2011. The concert also features Shostakovich’s most famous Symphony, the Fifth – an evening not to be missed.
