Paul Seaward on "The History of the Rebellion" by Edward Hyde, Earl of Clarendon

A mighty collector: Matthew Parker’s printed books

Wed 2 December 2015

University Library

The first of two talks on the library of Archbishop Matthew Parker. Parker’s collection of manuscripts at Corpus Christi College is one of the glories of Cambridge, but his still larger library of printed books has remained relatively little explored. As Parker Taylor Bibliographer, William Hale spent three years cataloguing the collection and here looks at the history and characteristics of the library of one of the great English reformers.

Cost: Free (donations welcome)
