WEEK 3 - Civil Rights, Minorities & Freedoms

HOLY COW (Sathyan Odessa, 2015; 58mins)

- Holy Cow is a contraversial documentary film about the complex politics of cow protection and slaughter in India. It is filmed in Kerala and directed by Sathyan of the legendary Odessa Collective. Of the film, Sathyan has said: “Holy Cow is a journey through the innards of our society, which has been celebrating with fanfare beliefs in animal sacrifice and animal worship".

The screenings are open to all and will be held in the meeting room of the Centre of Latin American Studies (directly beneath the Centre of South Asian Studies, in the Alison Richard Building, West Road). All screenings begin at 6pm on Thursday. Wine and soft drinks will be served during the screenings.
