Janet Scott was formerly Head of Religious Studies and Director of Studies in Religious Studies and Education at Homerton College and also served as Praelector for the College for 18 years.

She is a member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) and represents Friends at the World Council of Churches Central Committee and is a Trustee of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland and a Trustee and former Moderator of Churches Together in England.

Janet Scott served for twenty years on the Religious Education Council of
England and Wales and is the Deputy Chair of the Cambridgeshire Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education.
