Dr J Paul Schofield, Chair, Cambridgeshire Beekeepers' Association (CBKA)
I am a retired medical doctor and research scientist and have been beekeeping for 11 years. I keep 3 hives in my village garden and have been newsletter editor, Vice-Chair and now Chair of CBKA for the past 3 years.
Mr Jonathan Baynes
I retired from electronic engineering four years ago to become a Seasonal Bee Inspector with the National Bee Unit, part of Animal and Plant Health Agency. I have kept bees for 16 years, hold the General Certificate of Bee Husbandry (BBKA) and currently have 20 of my own colonies. I manage the CBKA's Queen Rearing apiary(7 hives) at Bourn, a village to the west of Cambridge.
Dr Bill Block, Senior Member of Wolfson College, Emeritus Fellow at British Antarctic Survey.
I am a biologist/ecologist by training and have kept bees for 18 years; I hold the General Certificate of Bee Husbandry (BBKA) and currently I manage 10 of my own colonies and am co-manager of the CBKA apiary (15 hives) at Impington, north of Cambridge.
This Green Talk will consist of a 40 minute presentation followed by a 20 minute Q&A.
