Kate Green 2015
Kate Green: Where Do Ideas Come From
Sat 6 February 2016 - Sun 20 March 2016
Wolfson College
Kate Green works in a variety of media and is deeply moved by colour. Inspired by poetry, landscape, memory and faith, she chooses the medium that best serves each idea. Recent works in watercolour have allowed her freedom in directness of expression. In the works she has chosen for this exhibition at Wolfson, she explores the language of childhood; the stitched pieces contain elements of silence and are about the need to re-create stillness and beauty in her life. As stillness has grown within her, Kate’s language has become more direct and speedy. Her watercolours reflect this development.
Kate Green (b. 1965) is a local artist who trained at Camberwell School of Art and Goldsmith’s College of Art and has exhibited in various London galleries as well as in Cambridge, Ely, Shropshire and Norfolk. She is the daughter of Anthony Green RA and Mary Cozens-Walker who are also artists. In 2015 she was joint winner in the Diocesan House and Premier Radio Art competition.
