Professor Marcia Inhorn, William K Lanman Jr. Professor of Anthropology and International Affairs at Yale University, will give the inaugural lecture of the 'Diane Middlebrook and Carl Djerassi Visiting Professorship' hosted by Sir Leszek Borysiewicz, Vice-Chancellor, University of Cambridge. The Lecture wiill be followed by a drinks reception.

The Diane Middlebrook and Carl Djerassi Visiting Professorship has been generously established by Carl Djerassi (Professor Emeritus, Stanford University and inventor of the modern-day contraceptive pill) in honour of his late wife Diane Middlebrook (Professor Emerita and Head of Gender Studies, Stanford University). The Visiting Professorship Scheme is designed to host distinguished senior scholars from a wide array of academic disciplines at the University of Cambridge Centre for Gender Studies.
