Brahms to Bartok, Bartok to Liszt?

A prizewinner at the Leeds Piano Competition and Scottish Piano Competition, Katya Apekisheva has appeared as soloist with many of the world’s leading orchestras including the London Philharmonic, the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Hall Orchestra and the Moscow Philharmonic, working with such conductors as Sir Simon Rattle and Alexander Lazarev.
Her CD release of Grieg’s solo piano works in 2011 received overwhelming critical acclaim and was selected by Gramophone magazine as Editor’s Choice.
Recent highlights include performances at Utrecht, Leicester, Ancona, Homecoming Festivals, a tour of the USA with Nicola Benedetti and appearances at Berlin Spectrum Series. She has also made recordings for BBC Radio 3 and German radio and a recent recital at the Wigmore Hall. Katya is a piano professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
