Robert (Skipp) Orr

Robert (Skipp) Orr is a former US ambassador to the Asian Development Bank, who began as an academic in Political Science with a Japan focus. He left academia to, amongst other things, become head of Boeing Japan before becoming an international advisor for the Obama campaign in 2008, which resulted in the ambassadorship.
