In this lecture, Professor KIrschner will challenge a view of life that is understood simply from the perspective of physics and chemistry and argue that an autonomous organism depends on a foundational component of life that never arose before in the physical world - a sense of purpose'.

The lecture will be held at 5.30pm on Friday 5th May in The Auditorium, Robinson College.

Following the lecture there will be a reception and dinner at Clare Hall.
