Mendelssohn's "Elijah"
The compelling story of Elijah’s attempts to free his people from famine and the priests of Baal. The music conjures up a wide range of emotions, from grief, fear and anger to relief and joy. Elijah is as operatic as any other masterwork from the 1840s, such as Wagner’s Tannhäuser.
Richard Laing conductor
Cost: Standard price £15.00, under 16 £2.00
