Cambridge explorations: following in the footsteps of Cambridge's scientific explorers
Wed 30 April 2014 - Wed 28 May 2014
Various (see description)
Cambridge institutions house and care for a wealth of treasures from around the globe. Ancient and contemporary, these specimens illustrate the history of the earth, the diversity of biological forms and species, and represent a link with our own evolutionary and cultural heritage.
They also tell an inspiring story of exploration and discovery; from the earliest explorers to researchers in the University today. Join us on a global tour that tracks some of these amazing explorations and gain privileged behind-the-scenes access to artefacts that Cambridge institutions have in their care.
Dates and venues:
30 April: Museum of Zoology
7 May: Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences
14 May: Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology
21 May: University Botanic Garden
28 May: British Antarctic Survey
