Kodaly Missa Brevis
Copland In the Beginning

New Cambridge Singers
Conductor Graham Walker

Our season’s first concert features music from Russia, Hungary, Czechoslovakia and the United States. The centrepieces are Kodaly’s expressive Missa Brevis and Copland’s scintillating setting of the opening of the book of Genesis; they are joined by two contrasting settings of the Lord’s Prayer: one by Janá?ek, for choir, organ and harp, and a real jewel of a version by the Russian conductor-
composer Nikolai Golovanov.
