The Betty Behrens Seminar on Classics of Historiography

Paul Seaward on "The History of the Rebellion" by Edward Hyde, Earl of Clarendon

Novelist Megan Hunter 'in conversation' with Mary Buckley

Fri 10 March 2017

Hughes Hall

Come along to hear debut novelist Megan Hunter 'in conversation' with Mary Buckley talking about her book The End We Start From (Picador, May 2017) and her writing career.

The book is described by the publisher as 'a story of new motherhood in a terrifying setting: a familiar world made dangerous and unstable, its people forced to become refugees'.

It has received glowing early endorsements from authors such as Jim Crace, Evie Wyld and Tracey Chevalier, and was recently described by The Bookseller as 'a very exciting debut from a hugely talented young writer... a stunning achievement'.

Megan graduated in English Literature from Sussex University in 2006 and completed her MPhil the year after at Jesus College, Cambridge. She was until recently Fellowship Manager at Hughes Hall before leaving to concentrate on her writing.

Mary Buckley is a Senior Member of Hughes Hall.
