The Ozone Hole

The ozone hole discovery - 30 years on

Join Jon Shanklin, one of the trio from British Antarctic Survey who made the discovery of the ozone hole in 1985 to find out how it led to a global ban on harmful-ozone depleting substances - and hear from Professor John Pyle about his award-winning research into ozone depletion today. The talk is scheduled from 6pm -7.30pm with a short tour of The Polar Museum afterwards.

St Edmund's College

Lord Jonathan Sacks, Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth and Cardinal Kurt Koch, head of the Pontifical Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews, will offer an open lecture for the Woolf Institute at St Edmund's College. This follows on from the Chief Rabbi's private audience with His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, facilitated by the Woolf Institute's director Dr Edward Kessler.
