The Consolation of Song
Sat 2 July 2016
Pembroke College
After their sell-out performance in April, Benjamin Bagby and Sequentia will return to Cambridge to present songs from Boethius’ Consolation of Philosophy on 2 July 2016 at 7.30pm, Pembroke College. The melodies are reconstructed from a rediscovered leaf of the 11th-century ‘Cambridge Songs Manuscript’ and are the product of a collaborative project with Dr Sam Barrett of the Faculty of Music at the University of Cambridge.
There will be a pre-concert talk from 7pm-7.30pm by Dr Sam Barrett on the reconstruction process.
Cost: £20/£15/£5
