2016’s Race to Change the World: How the U.S. Presidential Campaign Can Reshape Global Politics and Foreign Policy
Mon 11 July 2016 - Tue 12 July 2016
Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (CRASSH)
CRASSH will be hosting a major international conference focusing on the 2016 U.S. presidential election and the implications that this will have for future U.S. foreign policy.
The conference will be taking place shortly before the Democratic and Republican Party nominating conventions begin. Sessions will focus on the global challenges facing the next president, the role that a president can personally play in an international context, and the state of the 2016 campaign itself. In addition to this, we will hear the views of representatives from a number of key U.S. allies and trading partners on what their priorities are for working with the next president.
Confirmed speakers include former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Republican Party strategist (and former Congressman) Vin Weber, and Sir Malcolm Rifkind (former Defence and Foreign Secretary).
Convener
Steven P. Schrage (Cambridge)
Note: Registration for the conference includes automatic registration for the keynote address in the Babbage Lecture Theatre with priority, reserved seating.
Cost: £60 (£30 student)
