Duncan Robinson is the former Master of Magdalene, having retired in 2012. He is also the Chairman of the Henry Moore Foundation and was, until 2007, the Director of the Fitzwilliam Museum. An expert in art from the eighteenth century onwards, in his Festival Lecture he will focus on the relationship of art to music in the world of Gainsborough. His lecture has the intriguing title: ‘Mad for Music’.

Gerald Gifford will join Duncan with musical ilustrations of the lecture from the harpsichord.

After the lecture there will be a reception for the spekaer and audience in the Denis Murphy Gallery.
