Manaia
Haka workshop for children
Mon 3 August 2015
Museum of Classical Archaeology
Come and learn about the haka with Maori performing arts company, Manaia. Discover what the haka means, and learn the words and the actions. Learn about Maori culture and get your own Maori tattoo (temporary).
For children aged 7-13. Pre-booking necessary at https://dothehaka.eventbrite.co.uk.
Please note that this workshop will take place outside (unless the weather is inclement). We will meet at the Museum before taking a very short walk to Newnham College's sports grounds together. We politely request that participants arrive on time for this workshop and suggest that children wear sun cream.
This event is run in conjunction with our current exhibition "The Labours of Herakles" by New Zealand artist Marian Maguire.
For more information on Manaia, check out their website at http://www.manaia.co.uk.
