Sat 5 December 2020
online
Jonathan Woolston, a distinguished violin maker based in Cambridge, discusses the qualities of the Italian string instruments that are now so revered and reflects on the instrument-making that followed. He draws on his experience working with musicians and instruments that have defined the violin sound of modern times. Jonathan worked for several years in New York in the studios of Jacques Français and Rene Morel. He spent almost a decade at the Royal Academy of Music looking after their world-renowned instrument collection.
