Sarah Connolly CBE has recently been described in The Independent as 'She is unrivalled: simply the best, most exciting, most galvanising performer we have today...it was perfection.' In 2015 she will return to New York's Lincoln Centre to give a recital with Joseph Middleton. One of the few British artists to appear at this prestigious venue, we are thrilled that they will perform their programme in Pembroke beforehand.
Sarah is a Fellow of the Royal College of Music where she studied piano and singing. She has been nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award, a TMA Award, two Grammy Awards and won an Edison, Gramophone and South Bank Award. On the operatic stage she can be heard at The Metropolitan Opera, New York, at La Scala, Glyndebourne and the Royal Opera House. Her concert and recital programmes have also taken her around the world including the Carnegie Hall, Dresden Staatskapelle, London's Wigmore Hall and The Concertgebouw, Amsterdam. She was made a Commander of the British Empire in the 2010 New Year Honours. She is accompanied by Pembroke's College Musician, Joseph Middleton, recently described in BBC Music Magazine as 'one of the brightest stars in the world of song and Lieder.'
