A beginner's guide to storytelling
Sun 14 November 2010
Madingley Hall
This course offers students the opportunity to dip their toe into the wonderful world of oral storytelling. Teresa Benison will begin by considering the nature of the oral tradition, what makes it distinct from other art forms, then each student will go on to develop a story. Along the way it will be considered how to find the heart of a tale, how to identify the bare bones and from there rebuild the story to make it your own. Some performance techniques will also be looked at and the final session will offer the opportunity to share some of the stories.
Cost: £55
