Grading
Wed 23 October 2013
Cambridge Assessment
A brief overview of some of the issues that arise in the making of grading decisions for General Qualifications, some of which are designed for international use.
What are we trying to align with what in grading? Do we really have more than one aim, and if so, do they conflict and what do we then do about it? Given that we are using multiple sources of evidence, how do we prioritise when different indicators suggest different outcomes? How far does practice vary internationally and why? What additional issues arise if our results reporting consists of more than just a syllabus/specification grade?
