Professor Tina di Carlo (Dept of Architecture, University of Cambridge) will talk about projections, especially in regards to William Farish, the eighteenth-century scientist. Tony Kirby (renowned cartography expert) will discuss historical maps of Cambridge as representations of space. There will be a discussion and a chance for questions from the floor. The chair is Professor Stuart Martin (Department of Mathematics). The event is followed by a drinks reception in the Denis Murphy Gallery.
