New Horizons - Ken Zuckerman & Sanju Sahai

Sun 25 October 2015

Cripps court auditorium, Magdalene College

CUICAS (Cambridge University Indian Classical Arts Society) proudly invites you to an event where we bring together two doyens of Indian classical music for an evening of instrumental music on the 25th of October, 2015. Widely considered to be one of the great Sarod players of his generation, Ken Zuckerman of the Maihar Senia gharana (lineage) has been following the footsteps of the legendary Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and Ustad Alauddin Khan. He will be accompanied on the Tabla by Sanju Sahai, the current torchbearer of the Benares Gharana of tabla playing.

New Horizons is an effort by CUICAS to both highlight the appeal of Indian classical art forms beyond Indian shores and to celebrate the contribution of artists who, despite the absence of geographical proximity, have attained the highest levels of repute and critical acclaim in the practice of Indian art forms.

Discounts apply to students, seniors, under 18's etc. Tickets £8/£12. After 18th October ticket prices increase to £10/£15. Tickets to be booked online at the ADC ticketing website - https://www.adcticketing.com/whats-on/musical/new-horizons-ken-zuckerman-and-sanju-sahai.aspx
