Why Sweden joined NATO, with the Swedish Foreign Minister

Tobias Billström, the Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs, will be speaking about Sweden's successful application for full NATO membership and recent accession last month, becoming the alliance’s 32nd member. He has served in his present role since October 2022, and has been a member of the Swedish Riksdag (Parliament) since 2002. Mr Billström read for his MPhil in History at Selwyn, matriculating in 2001.

The event will be chaired by Roger Mosey, the master of Selwyn College. We will be inviting questions from the audience both online and in-person.
