Cambridge international piano series: Martin Roscoe
Wed 15 May 2013
West Road Concert Hall
Following on from our hugely successful first season we are presenting five recitals again in the second series, with two established artists at each end and three exciting young pianists providing contrast in the middle! Each carefully devised programme contains well known masterpieces and something a little more out-of-the-way. Martin Roscoe, Artistic Director
Martin Roscoe - 15 May 2013
Haydn - Sonata for Keyboard No. 47 in B minor Hob.XVI/32
Brahms - Four Klavierstücke Op. 119
Beethoven - Sonata for Piano No. 21 in C Op. 53 ("Waldstein")
Schubert - Sonata for Piano No. 21 in B flat D.960
Bringing the series to a close, Artistic Director Martin Roscoe plays two of the most sublime Sonatas in the repertoire which also happen to be amongst his personal favourites. To contrast, he opens with lesser-known works by two other great composers.
