Indigenous film, art and activism: counter-cartographies of the Amazon

This one-day symposium explores the relationship between film, art, and activism in the Amazon. Along with in-person discussions by international speakers, the programme includes a number of contemporary Amazonian films made by Indigenous creators who are using film to amplify their voices and contest historical marginalisation.

Enjoy this quintessentially Cambridge film in the glorious grounds of Madingley Hall. Bring your friends, enjoy free popcorn and perhaps come early and indulge in a BBQ as you relax on a summer evening.

Provided by Enchanted Cinema, the film begins at 8.00pm and is given a personal touch with a short introduction by Dr Jenny Bavidge. The Madingley Hall grounds are open from 6.00pm and food is served from 6.15pm, A pre-film talk on 'A Brief History of the Science of Stephen Hawking' will be given by Professor Jerome Gauntlett, who advised on the science behind the film, at 7.00pm.

Tickets are £15 and include popcorn, the pre-film talks and the view!
