Taught by experts from the University of Cambridge at the Department of Archaeology and led by Dr Carenza Lewis, well-known from Channel 4's Time Team, 'Discovering Archaeology' will introduce students to what archaeology is and teach them about the approaches and techniques archaeologists use to advance knowledge and understanding of life in the past
Access Cambridge Archaeology (www.arch.cam.ac.uk/aca/) run a program of practical and inspiring 'Discovery Days' aimed at Gifted and Talented students in school years 6-9 (11-14 years old) to creatively and skillfully investigate ancient evidence for themselves. A series of introductory 'Discovery Archaeology' days are taking place throughout November and December 2010 and subsequent specialist sessions covering animal and human remains and artefact handling are taking place in January and February 2011.
