Lunchtime Talk: Amanda Brock (Trustable)

The Trust & Technology Initiative is continuing our series of informal lunchtime talks featuring speakers from a range of disciplines and backgrounds talking about their work in the context of trust and technology.

7th May 2019: Amanda Brock (Trustable.io) will talk about Trustable, an open project looking at risk in software development, by pulling together engineering practices, legal and compliance with insurance. Trustable is a not for profit and will work on a contributions basis to establish state of the art around engineering processes, public constraints, legal and compliance and to consider suitable insurance for software

Amanda is the CEO of Trustable Software, www.trustable.io and joint organiser of the UK Open Source Awards, having been a judge of the awards in 2014 and 2015. Trustable Software is a new initiative looking at risk and transparency in Software. She was General Counsel of Canonical, and was a member of the Open Stack Drafting Committee in 2012. As well as her role at Trustable, Amanda is currently a European Representative of the defensive patent pool, the Open Invention Network; a Director of Open UK; an Executive Editor and Founder of the International Free and Open Source Law Review; on the OASIS Open Projects' Advisory Council (open source and open standards); and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Amanda is a regular international speaker and author covering technology, collaboration and legal issues.

All events in our lunchtime talk series run from 1pm to 2pm and are open to the public. Registration is not required

N.B. lunch is not provided, but food will be available to order. Please place orders before 1.10pm, when the talk will begin.
