Mon 16 June 2014 - Sat 28 June 2014

The Michaelhouse Centre

Seventy-five years ago, something remarkable happened in Cambridge. With barely weeks to go before the outbreak of the 2nd World War, the people of Cambridge, led by the inimitable Mrs Greta Burkill, launched a major rescue campaign to save the children. Over the next few years, 2000 children were to benefit from the work of the Cambridge Children’s Refugee Committee. For the first time, this exhibition will tell the hitherto untold stories of some of those who came to seek refuge in Cambridge and the families who cared for them.
