National 12-bell Striking Contest 2018 Final

Want to hear world-leading performers in this traditional English art? The final of this national bellringing competition brings over 500 ringers to the University Church in Cambridge to hear ten teams battle it out and see who can ring this year’s set piece the best. The GSM ringers are hoping to use their home advantage to take the trophy back. (We last hosted the Final in 1987, and won!) The competition will be between 11.00am and 4.30pm on the bells of Great St Mary’s, cast to celebrate the University’s 800th anniversary. Great St Mary’s will be open all day for tourists with activities for families, in the centre of Cambridge just next-door to the weekend market. There'll be a live feed in the church with commentary and interviews all day to explain what's going on. Or listen online (and find out more) from 12bell.scy.org.uk.
