Bridge the Gap charity walk

Sun 9 September 2012

Jesus Green

Have you always wanted to visit the Cambridge Colleges? Take a Sunday stroll through the scenic courts and gardens of nine Colleges in the City centre and the newly reopened Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, while raising money for local charities Arthur Rank Hospice and Press Relief.

Taking place each September as part of the annual Open Cambridge weekend, this five-mile walk raises funds in support of local charities Arthur Rank Hospice and Press Relief, while giving local residents the opportunity to explore the historic grounds and gardens of Cambridge Colleges. In 2011, Bridge the Gap attracted 2700 walkers, raising £45,000 in support of Arthur Rank Hospice Charity and Press Relief.

This year's Bridge the Gap route includes Magdalene, St. John's, Trinity, King's, Darwin, Pembroke, Emmanuel, Sidney Sussex and Jesus Colleges, as well as the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. Join community groups, local residents, families and Olympic swimmer Mark Foster for this Sunday stroll through some of Cambridge's loveliest courts and gardens, and celebrate the end of the walk with band performances and refreshments on Jesus Green.

Bridge the Gap welcomes participants of any age or ability for this annual stroll through Cambridge’s scenic grounds. Information for participants requiring level access can be found on the event website.

Cost: £15, free for under 18s
