Deryck Cooke

Melted into air, into thin air: the radio scripts in the Deryck Cooke Archive

Wed 14 October 2015

Cambridge University Library

Deryck Cooke (1919-76) is known around the world for his 'Performing Version' of Mahler's unfinished Tenth Symphony - but he was also one of the finest music broadcasters ever to work at the BBC. In this talk, Mark Doran discusses some of Cooke's radio scripts now held at the UL, and illustrates them with recordings from his own collection.
