Christian Blackshaw, piano
Thu 2 November 2017
St John's College Old Divinity School
Kettle's Yard is delighted to welcome Blackshaw to Cambridge this November.
His playing combines tremendous emotional depth with great understanding and, in the words of one London critic, “sheer musicality and humanity”. Pianist magazine, reviewing his performance of Schubert’s great B Flat Sonata D.960 at the Queen Elizabeth Hall wrote that the work “has become the calling card of many a pianist wishing to declare themselves a musician’s musician and Blackshaw most certainly belongs to this category”.
In the Old Divinity School at St John's College he will perform:
Schubert: Moments Musicaux, D780
Mozart: Piano Sonata in A minor, K310
Schubert: Piano Sonata in B at major, D960
Doors open at 7.30pm
Cost: £16 (£6 students)
