Cordelia Spalding: drop-In art workshops for all the family

Sat 22 March 2014 - Sun 23 March 2014

Murray Edwards College

The structure and design of nature is seen at its most intense through the lens of microscopes and scientific photography. Cells from all spectrums of our world come to life in weird and wonderful shapes and together can form a myriad of landscapes on the tiniest of scales. Fascinating to look at, these "designs/structures and patterns" are purposeful, they have a function that we rely on, fear or hope to copy in our own man-made environment. Examining the physical design of these tiny sculptures may open many new doors within the world of science

Working with Artist Cordelia Spalding, you are invited to create your own cellular designs and participate in the creation of a collaborative installation that reflects the wonders of the world of science, and may lead us to consider the physical importance of the size, shape and texture of the micro-world that lies around us.
