How and when?

For both UK and EU students there are two stages to the application process (see the table below).

Provided you have received confirmation of your place, you will be able to start the application process from mid-August prior to starting your course in the Autumn. For example, if you will be starting the first year of the Graduate Course in Medicine in October 2012, then you will be able to apply from mid-August 2012.

Both stages of the application process must be completed by 19 October.

Step 2	Give or send your Financial Notification* (from your Student Finance Agency) to the appropriate Tutor or Administrator at your College, together with a signed hard-copy of your completed application form by 19 October. The application will only become valid when countersigned by the College.	You will need to demonstrate to your College that your household income for the calendar year 2011 was below £42,600 sterling or equivalent. The figures will need to be documented in your local currency and also in sterling. These will then need to have been independently verified by an employer, banker, lawyer or other authorised person. Please bring this documentary evidence with you to Cambridge and give it to the appropriate Tutor or Administrator at your College, together with a signed hard-copy of your completed application form by 19 October. The application will only become valid when countersigned by the College.
	*Please note that you should still apply before 19 October even if: you have not yet received a financial notification you have not been offered a means-tested maintenance loan but are hoping for a financial reassessment which will mean you will meet the eligibility requirements.
