Verification of Cambridge Degrees

Please note: the Student Records and Exam team only handles verification for full-time degrees awarded by the University of Cambridge.

The Student Registry has no connection with examinations at GCSE or A-Level, and overseas examinations. These are administered by Cambridge Assessment (previously known as the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate). For information on these topics (including past exam results) please visit the Cambridge Assessment website at http://www.cambridgeassessment.org.uk.

The Student Registry is able to verify qualifications awarded by the University of Cambridge.

Please note that, in line with Data Protection legislation, it is only possible to provide verification information on our current student body with the explicit consent of the student concerned. We will not provide this information without first having received written authorisation or a signed declaration from the student.

All applications from persons wishing to verify qualifications should be made in writing, giving full details of the person and qualification(s) concerned and, if necessary, evidence of that person's consent to release the information.

Important Information for Verification Checking Companies:

  • Verification requests will be answered within 28 days of receipt
  • The Student Registry is unable to confirm receipt of verification requests; please do not telephone to check - all queries to are immediately acknowledged by an automated email
  • Status checks on the progress of requests cannot be given
