University of Cambridge: 800 Years 1209 - 2009

In 2009, the University of Cambridge reaches a special milestone – 800 years of people, ideas and achievements that continue to transform and benefit the world. In order to support faculties, departments, colleges and University groups wishing to help celebrate the 800th Anniversary, the University established the 2009 Fund. Over 40 special events and projects are being supported through the 2009 Fund, including events in the Science Festival.

Society of Chemical Industry

The Society of Chemical Industry (SCI) is an international forum where scientists have the opportunity to share information between sectors as diverse as food and agriculture, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, environmental science and safety. Founded in 1881, SCI's principal objective has been to further the application of chemistry and related sciences for the public benefit. Institute of Biology

The Institute of Biology is the professional body for UK biologists. Founded in 1950, the IoB obtained a Royal Charter in 1979, and is a registered charity. Their 12,000 members work in a diverse range of disciplines, including industry, research, education and healthcare. Members are provided with opportunities to continue their professional development, as well as providing a means for biologists to meet through their extensive UK Branch Network. Excellence East
