Evaluation compendium 2009
The Cambridge Science Festival is committed to engaging the public with science, technology, engineering, mathematics, medicine and more. The Festival depends on the continued creativity, hard work and enthusiasm of colleagues in the University and beyond. We thank all those who created and co-ordinated individual and departmental events. We aim to be inclusive and we thank the other agencies, schools, institutions and businesses which take part. The achievements of everyone involved and appreciation of the public have been recognised since the last Festival, with the Directory of Social Change national Public Body Award in June 2007.
Our events are evaluated by the visiting public and we collate and assess their comments in order to make improvements to the following year’s festival. We welcome your comments and suggestions.
We estimate that 25,000 individuals attended over 160 events during 14 days of the Festival, and the schools’ visits prior to and during the Festival. It continues to be the largest free Science Festival in the UK and attracts a wide audience of all ages from the local area and beyond, including many international visitors. This evaluation features all of the centrally organised events and many of the departmental events, where feedback has been provided.
