The team behind the Cambridge Science Festival also run other free public events throughout the year.

Festival of ideas

Visit the new festival of arts, humanities and social sciences, which takes place from 21 October to 1 November 2009. This year there will be the chance for visitors of all ages to learn more about the Cambridge ideas that shaped the world, looking to the past, present and on to the future. There will be a range of talks, performances and discussions to get you thinking.

Bridge the Gap Charity Walk

Walk through Cambridge Colleges for charity. The 4.5 mile Bridge the Gap Charity walk takes place on Sunday 13 September and raises money for Arthur Rank Hospice and Press Relief. It is one of the most popular charity walks in the region and includes activities on route and a chance to learn more about the history of Cambridge and its Colleges.

Open Cambridge

Open Cambridge provides a unique opportunity for visitors to explore collegiate Cambridge through subject themed tours, guided by University and College experts. Open Cambridge will take place on 11 – 12 September 2009, featuring tours of College’s, libraries and departments as well as talks which explore 800 years of history.
