Society for the History of the University

The next meeting will be held at 5.30 p.m. in the Old Library, Darwin College, on Wednesday, 1 November 2017 (note change, on this occasion, of day of week). Professor Stefan Collini will give a paper entitled The origins of ‘Cambridge English’? The centenary of the English tripos. Refreshments will be served from 5 p.m.

Cambridge Philosophical Society

The Society’s second talk of the Michaelmas Term will take place at 6 p.m. on Monday, 23 October 2017, in the Bristol-Myers Squibb Lecture Theatre, Department of Chemistry, Lensfield Road. Professor Gopal Madabhushi will give a lecture entitled On dangerous ground: understanding earthquake induced soil liquefaction.
