Emmanuel College

Memorial concert for Dr Ron Gray

A memorial concert will be held in the Queen’s Building Lecture Theatre, Emmanuel College, on Friday, 18 November 2016, for Dr Ron Gray, who died, aged 96 years, in November 2015. At 5 p.m. there will be talks about Dr Gray and his work, followed by a concert at 6 p.m. Dr Christopher Whitton and Mr Richard Latham will perform songs for baritone and piano by Schubert, Duparc, and Finzi, and will include readings of two sonnets by Shakespeare.

The concert will last approximately 45 minutes. Admission is free and unticketed.

The memorial service for Dame Margaret Joan Anstee, DCMG, M.A., (Hon.)LL.D., Honorary Fellow of Newnham College, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations 1987–93 (see Reporter, 6435, 2016–17, p. 8) will be at St James’s Church, Piccadilly, London, on Tuesday, 17 January 2017, at 3 p.m., followed by a reception at Chatham House.
