Form and conduct of examinations, 2017

Notices by Faculty Boards, or other bodies concerned, of changes to the form and conduct of certain examinations to be held in 2017, by comparison with those examinations in 2016, are published below. Complete details of the form and conduct of all examinations are available from the Faculties or Departments concerned.

Computer Science Tripos, 2017

The Faculty Board of Computer Science and Technology gives notice that, with effect from the examinations to be held in 2017, the form of the examination for the following papers for the Computer Science Tripos will be changed as follows:

Part Ia

Paper 2 will contain two questions on Software Engineering and Security, replacing Software and Interface Design. Candidates will be expected to answer five questions.

In Paper 3 (new regulations), Section A will contain two questions on Databases, Section B will contain two questions on Graphics, Section C will contain two questions on Interaction Design, and Section D will contain three questions on Machine Learning and Real-world Data. Candidates will be expected to answer five questions, one from each of Sections A, B, and C and two from Section D.

Part II

Paper 7 will contain 14 questions. These will include a question on ML and Baysian Inference, replacing Artificial Intelligence II. Candidates will be expected to answer five questions.

Paper 8 will contain 15 questions. These will include a question on ML and Baysian Inference, replacing Artificial Intelligence II. Candidates will be expected to answer five questions.

Paper 9 will contain 16 questions including a question on Mobile and Sensor Systems. Candidates will be expected to answer five questions.
