Theological and Religious Studies Tripos, Parts I, IIa, and IIb: special subjects and prescribed texts, 2016: Amendment

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 399)

With immediate effect

Further to the Notice published on 17 June 2015 (Reporter, 6391, 2014–15, p. 635) the Faculty Board of Divinity have announced a reduction in prescribed texts for Paper A1. D. Qur’anic Arabic as follows:

Group A

Paper A1. Scriptural languages and texts

D. Qur’anic Arabic

Sura LIII 1–23, in place of 1–40;

Bukhari, 2–6, in place of 1–10;

Isfara’ini 45–46.

Other passages of the Qur’an (from Sura II and IV) will be as previously announced. The prescribed texts for this paper will therefore be:

The Qur’an, I: 1–7, II: 1–23, IV: 93–100, LIII: 1–23; al-Bukhari, al-Jami’al-Sahih (Cairo, 1313 AH), Vol. I, pp. 2–6; al-Isfara’ini, al-Tabsir fi’l-din (Beirut, 1983 CE), pp. 45–46.

The Faculty Board of Divinity are satisfied that no candidate’s preparation for the examination in 2016 will be affected.
